one more to add
I decided to work with size 10 thread, get a bit more coverage and used a simple pattern
1st round
R 2 p 2 p 2 p 2 p 2 p 2 cl
(picots are joined on second picot to second to last picot from previous ring)
rw
CH 3 p 3 p 3 p 3 repeat 9x
R 2 p 2 p 2 p 2 p 2 p 2 cl
rw
CH 5 p 3 J 3 p 5 repeat 9x
(Join is to middle picot of previous round)
Working with odd numbers makes it easier to make patterns or work with beads should you wish to add them. Working with even numbers of rings will make it very simple to run one single line around as this one is.

Thanks for the pattern! I will try this... I have plenty of Christmas ornaments to cover!
Lovely lovely! What thread is this?
Oh, lovely jewel tones!
Who CARES about 'odds or evens' when you use such STUNNING colours. You've made my day with these. WOWWEEEEEEEE. You ROCK.
This thread is an HDT from a friend of mine. I honestly do not remember what she named it. If you would like to contact her here is her email address: jacks.my.dog.71@gmail.com Let her know that I sent you and I am sure you can work out some sort of arrangement to get some.
Jane you have put a permasmile on my face!! thank you!
Tattingchic, I am really glad you like my work. It is always a little scary to work with bright thread on bright backgrounds hoping that one will not detract from the other.
I have another about finished because I must confess that I made one ring with 11 and followed that with a ring of 12 which made it impossible to thread it onto the ball so now I have a completed 12 and am finishing the complement to the 11 to put on another. I am going to try either blue or silver for the background next. I'll post as soon as it is finished.
Again thank you all for such wonderful comments. I appreciate them greatly.
Mike.
Diane, If there are any patterns you see in my work that you would like to have just say the word and I will gladly write it down for you.
like I Said its a very simple 2 round motif that you thread together at the middle on this one, but the result is fantastic.
Mike.
pretty! love the colours!
Beautiful just beautiful!
Thank you for sharing the pattern. I can never make your patterns look even remotely as beautiful as your creations!
